I just made this …
I just made this last night for me and my friends and it was soooooo yummy, everyone loved it. I don’t have a grinder (or pureer) so the i couldn’t turn it into a paste (i just had the onion pieces and small tomatoe pieces) but it still turned out really really good. Maybe next time I could use lamb. My husband made naan for us and it went perfect w/this.

Star anise is a super strong spice and should be used sparingly. The flavor is that of fennel seeds (licorice). In Indian food, it is sometimes added to hot oil in the whole form so that it flavors the oil with out overpowering the dish.
