Whole Foods Market “Organic” food made in China !!!!

I was shocked to watch ABC I-Team news about your organic products. The show pointed out how you have been deceiving your customers for years including me. Your products stated certified organic Californian etc while it printed with small letters in the back Made in China. We all know the Chinese products are not certified organic by FDA and there is no way you can insist they are.

First of all, Organic DOES NOT MEAN, no pesticides or chemicals, from China, USA, Canada, Mexico, Chili or anywhere else. This is marketing BS. If you can grow your own stuff its the way to go.

1 ) If you’re not reading the label as a consumer, then you’re asking for trouble. We have labeling laws in this country for a reason. 2) I’d bet that “organic from china” is probably still has lower pesticide use than “non-organic from china” – if you want to compare apples.

I don’t see anyone up in arms over Trader Joe’s and they don’t tell you ANYTHING about their products because they buy most of their food from other manufacturers and put their name on it. And because they sell it cheaper than the original manufacturer they won’t reveal where it’s made, how it’s made or who it’s made by. Yes Whole Foods needs to come clean but people need to take responsibility for themselves.

The key is to buy the locally grown produce that is IN season and not packaged in plastic. I always look to see where produce is grown before buying it – no matter where I am shopping.
